Universal multi-protocol coin mechanism with firmware version 6.1 can be operated in the following modes using the dip switches on the front of the coin mechanism:
 

Parallel Mode (All switches off)

Binary (All switches off)

Serial Mode (Switches 1 & 2 on)

Encrypted Serial (Switches 1,2 & 3 on - Coin Key = last six digits of the serial number on the right hand side of the coin mechanism 

Data Encryption Standard (DES) (Switches 1,2,3, 5 & 6 on - Once machine has fully initilised switch 6 off.
